Poster Exhibition 1992: I’m here.
Since 1983 the Japan Graphic Designers Association Inc. (JAGDA) has held an annual exhibition of posters voluntarily created by its members on the general theme of “peace”. On the occasion of the 5th “JAGDA Peace Posters Exhibition” held in 1987, the scope of the event was expanded to international scale embracing designers from 31 participating nations. From 1989 to 1991 the focus was broadened to include posters not only treating the topic of peace but also speaking out on environmental issues, especially water. All of these exhibitions have garnered worldwide notice and acclaim.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the inception of the JAGDA Peace Posters Exhibition, in 1992 we are holding an exhibition “The JAGDA Peace and Environment Poster Exhibition: I’m here” of even greater comprehensive scale covering the joint themes of “Peace and the Environment”. Also, for the first time all participating posters will compete for selection of a major award, to be known as the “JAGDA Poster Grand Prize 1992” given to the most outstanding entry in the exhibition.
Hopefully the winning poster will be printed in additional quantities for broad distribution.
We sincerely hope that the exhibition and the many posters created for it will foster a deeper sense of understanding and awareness of issues involving peace and the environment.
